Location. The Stonewall Jackson Hotel is located in the Shenandoah Valley in Staunton, Va. The hotel is adjacent to the Blackfriars Playhouse and Staunton's Main Street. The Frontier Culture Museum and Mary Baldwin College are two miles from the hotel. The Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library is three blocks away. Staunton was founded in 1747 and features Queen Anne and Colonial Revival architecture.
Hotel Features. The Stonewall Jackson Hotel opened in 1924 and was designed by H.L. Stevens. The hotel is named for General Stonewall Jackson. The hotel's restaurant, 24 Market, features 25 foot ceilings and palladium windows. The eatery serves American cuisine. The on site bar, Sorrells, serves cocktails and light fare. More than 8,000 square feet of meeting and event space is available at the hotel. The Shenandoah Ballroom accommodates up to 495 people. A business center and complimentary high speed Internet access are available on site. Complimentary newspapers are provided in the lobby which features a fireplace. This Staunton hotel's fitness center includes cardiovascular and weight training equipment. The fitness center is adjacent to the indoor pool and whirlpool.
