Vila Sol Spa & Golf Resort is a luxury Mediterranean property spread over 150 hectares and surrounded by lush greenery, just two kilometres from the marina. The 189 air conditioned guestrooms mix modern and traditional Portuguese styles and are finished with patterned fabrics, wood furnishings and furnished terraces. Amenities include high speed Internet access, satellite television with pay movies, direct dial phones, minibars and safes. Bathrooms have bathrobes, slippers, telephones and hair dryers.

The hotel offers a variety of dining options: the Green Pines Restaurant serves a range of Portuguese and Spanish influenced Mediterranean dishes in an elegant, modern setting with views of the golf course and lake; L'Olive Restaurant offers international and Mediterranean food, along with an extensive wine list; Prime serves light meals and snacks in an informal setting with plasma screen televisions and a terrace; and the informal Pool Restaurant offers snacks, salads, cocktails and fruit juices. Guests can head for the hotel's 27 hole golf course, which incorporates three loops with three levels of difficulty, and is served by a Club House and Golf Academy. Taxis can be caught from outside the terminal building; typical fares are 9 12.50 EUR to Faro town, to Vilamoura 25 30 EUR, to Lagos 65 80 EUR and to Albufeira 35 45 EUR. Buses can also be caught outside the terminal building. AEROBUS provides a shuttle service between the airport and city centre daily (except Tuesday) in high season.
Driving directions: From the airport follow signs for Lisboa/Portimao/Loul� for three kilometres. Turn right and follow directions for Portim�o/ Loul�. Pass two sets of traffic lights, bear right and follow N125 for Almancil/Quarteira, heading for Portim�o/Lisboa. Pass two gas stations on both sides of the main road, and at the next traffic lights, bear right and make a left turn. Follow the road for Vilamoura/Quarteira, pass the Aqua Show Fun Park on the right, and turn right at the sign for Morgadinhos.
