Location. The Hotel Algarve Casino is located by the long Algarve beach of Praia da Rocha, Portugal, within two and a half kilometres of Portimao, and 60 kilometres from Faro.

Hotel Features. The Hotel Algarve Casino hotel overlooks landscaped gardens and the sea. There is parking for guests at the front of the hotel and the spacious lobby leads into its bar, with sofas and large windows.

Hotel Algarve Casino provides a complimentary buffet breakfast and has three restaurants. The elegant Amendoeiras Restaurant offers a combination of international and nouvelle cuisine. Aladino Restaurant, in the casino, has a similar style of menu but also serves Portuguese dishes. Zodiaco Restaurant serves snacks, drinks and a lunch menu by the pool. Sunset Bar in the main lounge offers sea views.

The hotel has a business centre, meeting and conference rooms, and wireless Internet access throughout.

The hotel casino is open every night of the week. Outside there are two heated pools, one with seawater for adults and the other for children. The hotel has a fitness room, massage services and a renovated spa tub and Scottish bath. The hotel offers a playground and, in summer, watersports facilities. There are waterparks and championship golf courses in the area.

Guestrooms. The Hotel Algarve Casino's air conditioned guestrooms are all decorated with Moorish style touches, and have minibars, satellite television, safes and bathrobes.

Expert Tip. Once the regional capital, the hilltop town of Silves dates back to 1,000 BC. Although many historic buildings were destroyed in the earthquake of 1755, its Moorish castle and reservoirs remain.

Driving Directions

From Faro Airport (FAO):
Distance to Hotel Algarve Casino is 60 kilometres, approximately 50 minutes' drive.

Getting there. Taxis and vans wait outside the airport, and take around 50 minutes to reach Praia da Rocha, where the hotel is located. A car is recommended for exploring the Algarve region. Privately run buses connect many of the major resorts.

Driving directions. From Faro Airport follow signs for the A22 and join the motorway heading towards Lagos.
Near Portimao leave the motorway.
Follow the signs for Praia da Rocha and then for the hotel, which are posted at junctions and roundabouts.
