The Ajuda Madeira Hotel is a modern resort set in extensive grounds, three kilometres from Funchal city centre and one kilometre from the beach. The hotel's 91 guestrooms have balconies or terraces with sea or pool views, French style windows and pastel colour schemes with pine wood furnishings. All offer air conditioning, minibars, safes, desks and coffee tables. Bathrooms have classical marble surfaces, bidets and hair dryers.
The hotel's main restaurant serves local and international cuisine and has a light, pastel decor with polished stone floors. Drinks and cocktails are available at the lobby bar, where live music is played daily. The lagoon style swimming pool is lined with sunbeds and parasols, and the kids have their own paddling pool. The solarium is located on the 6th floor terrace with panoramic views, and there is also a sauna, jetted tub, Turkish bath and games room. Practical amenities include a 24 hour front desk with multilingual staff and a safe deposit box. The hotel is close to many of the area attractions; a shopping centre is located adjacent to the hotel, and the beach is just one kilometre away. There is a casino is three kilometres from the hotel, and a golf course seven kilometres away. Madeira Funchal International Airport is 22 kilometres (14 miles) from the hotel.

An airport shuttle bus is available, as well as taxis. A courtesy bus runs six times from the city centre to the hotel.
Driving directions: From the airport take the main road and follow signs to Funchal. Take exit no Nine. Pass the hospital, traffic lights and a sign for 'Lido', and then turn right towards the Lido area and the Estrada Monumental, along the coastal road. After reaching the crossroads at Lido, continue through Alto Lido, Baia Azul Hotels. Take the first right and the hotel is at the top of the road.
