The Hotel Atlantic Palace is a traditional, richly historic Florentine hotel housed in a 13th century monastery. Set in the city centre, the hotel is within 500 meters of most markets, restaurants and museums. The 62 spacious guestrooms have high, beamed ceilings and are sumptuously appointed in 18th century Florentine style. All rooms have marble bathrooms and include air conditioning, satellite TV and minibars.
Guests can keep up to date with daily international newspapers and an Internet point available at the hotel bar, while the adjoining lounge is refined in style, and a peaceful spot to peruse the paper. Buffet breakfasts can be enjoyed in the breakfast room, which has preserved most of its architecturally historic facets. The hotel also offers a well equipped gym for those who feel the need to work out, and the multilingual staff can provide tour assistance. Business services are also available. Florence is easily explored on foot and the hotel is within 500 meters of attractions such as the San Lorenzo Market, the Church of St Lawrence, Santa Maria Novella Cloisters and the Cathedral Museum. Florence Airport is 6 kilometres (4 miles) from the hotel. Although the airport is very close to Florence, traffic can be bad in the city, so guests are advised to allow 20 minutes. The airport is a short taxi ride from town (costing 13 16 EUR) although it is also possible to take the half hourly bus, which transports passengers to Santa Maria Novella Station, in the centre of Florence.
